Garrett Obrycki, baritone

During the 2017-2018 season, baritone Garrett Obrycki will perform as Atticus Finch’s Trainer in David T Little’s Vinkensport, Kromov in The Merry Widow and Mr. Koffner in The Consul with Opera Saratoga. He performed the roles Spinelloccio and Amantio in Gianni Schicchi and The Magistrate in Busos’s Ghost with Opera Delaware and Baltimore Concert Opera. Obrycki sang as the baritone soloist in Carmina Burana with the Skidmore College Orchestra in Saratoga Springs, NY and was an Apprentice Artist for Sarasota Opera’s Winter Season. He began the season with Middlebury Opera Company, covering Belcore in its fall production of L’elisir d’amore.” A frequent performer of new works, Obrycki has joined Opera Philadelphia for four workshops, including David T. Little’s JFK, and has sung in the world premieres of Missy Mazzoli’s Breaking the Waves, Jeff Myers’ Maren of Vardø, Bonnie Montgomery’s Billy Blythe and Evan Mack’s Roscoe. Obrycki has trained with Opera Saratoga, Seagle Music Colony, Ohio Light Opera and the Eastman School of Music. During the 2018-2019 season, Obrycki will return to Opera Ithaca to sing the title role in Ambroise Thomas' Hamlet, to Sarasota Opera to sing Police Sergeant and to Baltimore Concert Opera to sing Masetto in Don Giovanni.
