Baltimore Concert Opera will present a FREE recital entitled The Verdi Baritone as part of Baltimore's ARTSCAPE festival.  This free performance is sponsored in part by the Baltimore Office for Promotion and Arts.  BCO favorite baritone, Jonathan Carle, will perform masterpieces of the Verdi Baritone repertoire, James Harp will accompany.  This program will be narrated by Maestro Victor DeRenzi, Artistic director of the Sarasota Opera.  Maestro DeRenzi is widely recognized as an authority on the music of Verdi.  In 2013, Sarasota Opera under Maestro DeRenzi's direction, will complete their initiative know as The Verdi Cycle, which is dedicated to performing every opera written by the great composer.

This offering is part of the Baltimore Concert Opera's mission to bring the tradition and excitement of opera to a new audience.  Our often informal atmosphere welcomes both fans and newcomers to the world of opera, while never compromising the artistic integrity of the music.  We believe that although becoming an opera fan takes an investment of time, energy and curiosity, the return on that investment is extraordinary.
