Sarah Saturnino, mezzo-soprano

 Sarah Saturnio will be joining Baltimore Concert Opera for Thirsty Thursdays at the Opera: Madness Malbec and More. Sarah has performed in many of Opera UCLA’s productions, both with leading roles and in the chorus. Some of her roles included the Patre in Ravel’s L’Enfant et les Sortileges, the Sister-in-Law in a staged version of Handel’s oratorio L’Allegro, Il Penseroso, ed Il  Moderato, and as Jenny in Weill’s Down in the Valley. Sarah has also worked as a Gluck Foundation Fellow focusing on music outreach in the greater Los Angeles area for inner-city schools and retirement homes.
                Sarah has performed with the Miami Summer Music Festival in the principle role of Le Prince Charmant in Massenet’s Cendrillon. She has sung in a "Christmas in July" concert of Handel's Messiah with the Wintergreen Performing Arts Festival as well as multiple concerts in Tuscany, Italy with Bel Canto in Tuscany. Most recently, Sarah was a studio artist with The Chautauqua Opera Company where she covered Paquette in Candide. 
                Sarah has worked with many talented singers, teacher, coaches, conductors, directors, and choreographers. She thrives on teamwork and collaboration. Her goal is to continue to revive opera as an art form and continue to reach out to her community with a passion for music and learning.
                Sarah graduated with latin honors and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2016 with a major in Vocal Performance and a Minor in Music Industry. She graduated with honors from the Yale University School of Music with a Masters of Music in 2018. 

Upcoming events include Painted Sky Opera's 2018 production of Verdi's Rigoletto and Opera Uncorked: Mayhem, Madness, Malbec & More with Opera Delaware and Baltimore Concert Opera. Sarah will be giving a recital with renown organist Janet Yieh in February 2019.
