Robin Steitz, soprano

Robin Steitz was a 2018 Voice Fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center, where she most notably performed the role of ‘Mourner’ in a new chamber adaptation of Bernstein’s A Quiet Place.
Earlier this year, Ms. Steitz also placed 3rd in the 2018 Partners for the Arts Competition in Alexandria, VA. She received her Master’s degree in vocal performance from the Eastman School of Music, where she won 1st Place at the Jessie Kneisel Lieder Competition, placed 3rd
at the Friends of Eastman Opera Voice Competition, and won the Voice Concerto Competition, for which she was awarded a performance of Lutoslawski’s Chantefleurs et Chantefables with the Eastman School Symphony Orchestra. Last year, Ms. Steitz also performed the Aria from Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Previous opera roles include the title role of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Patience with the Victorian Lyric Opera Company; ‘La Fée’ (Cendrillon) and ‘Miss Jessel’ (Turn of the Screw) with Eastman Opera Theater; and ‘Suor Genovieffa’ (Suor Angelica) at Oberlin in Italy.
