Orin Strunk, tenor

Tenor Orin Strunk is a 2015 graduate of Westminster Choir College, where he received his Master’s Degree in voice performance. He also received his Bachelor’s Degree in 2013 from the same institution. Orin currently studies with Harold Evans. Past voice teachers include Laura Brooks Rice, Lindsey Christiansen and Tamara Black. Mr. Strunk also studied with Lorraine Nubar while attending Juilliard’s Pre-College Voice Program.

Orin started off 2018 by singing the role of “Beadle Bamford” in Baltimore Concert Opera’s production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street. Following that production, Orin debuted his first professional lead role as “Sancho Panza” in Pensacola Opera’s Man Of La Mancha. Most recently, Orin sang the role of “Gherardo” in Opera Delaware’s co-production of Gianni Schicchi and Buoso’s Ghost. Mr. Strunk has also performed as a member of the Opera Philadelphia chorus, where he has participated in productions of Cold Mountain, Capriccio, L’elisir d’Amore, and Turandot. Orin was a 2015 and 2016 member of the Janiec Opera Company at the Brevard Music Center, where he debuted the role of “Dr. Fowler” in the world premier of J. Mark Scearce’s Falling Angel.

Currently, Orin is one of the inaugural young artists in Opera Delaware’s new Young Artist Development Program. In 2019, Orin will sing the role of “Father Grenville” in Opera Delaware’s production of “Dead Man Walking.”
