Dear Friend,

We're thrilled to announce that with the help of our newest board member, attorney (and accomplished tenor) Ben Schuman, we have completed application for the 501(c)(3) status from the IRS, and on October 5 our application was approved.  This means that your donations to the BCO are now tax deductible.  Those of you who have already generously donated funds will be notified via US mail that these donations are deductible retroactively, back to the point of our incorporation (January 30, 2009).  We are very excited to have this hurdle behind us, and we're grateful to everyone who has shown their support.  We've received over $3000 in donations in the days following Faust, bringing us up to just under 25% of our fundraising goal for our first season.  We hope that the added incentive of a tax deductible donation helps push us over the edge.

Please remember that tickets for the balance of our season are currently available through our Web site.  Don Pasquale sales are going quite well, please order your seats early!  We will be able to accommodate ticket sales at the door this season, but patrons who do not buy their seats in advance will not be able to attend the happy hour/lecture prior to the performance (we cannot guess how many will attend last minute, and therefore there is no way to have the appropriate amount of food available.)

Free Fall BaltimoreAlso, please remember our upcoming FREE performance at FREE FALL BALTIMORE, with the other artists in residence at The Engineers Club on Wednesday, October 14th at 7:30pm.  This is made possible by a grant from the Baltimore Office for Promotion of the Arts, and is a great chance to come enjoy the mansion and some marvelous music!

Follow us on FACEBOOK and TWITTER!  Social network sites are a huge part of our marketing strategy.  They are affordable, and wide reaching.  We occasionally are able to offer discounted tickets to these groups, in order to provide and incentive to help us spread the word.  If you are not already a FAN OF BALTIMORE CONCERT OPERA on Facebook, or following @concertopera on Twitter, you are missing your opportunity to receive discounted and sometimes FREE tickets!  Please be aware that the earlier you buy your tickets, the better the discount....we like to reward our patrons for planning ahead rather than reward procrastinators with last minute deals!

Thank you for your continued support!

Brendan Cooke
